GEORGE RYCZEK RETIRES
After A Twenty Six Year Contribution To The
Growth of Bomco

All George Ryczek’s Bomco contemporaries respect him as the honest, dedicated, results-oriented producer he has been over a career spanning 26 years with Bomco. George worked with a team including engineers, quality control, and production supervisors and managers to increase Bomco’s sales from $4.8 million in 1983 to $15 million today. George Ryczek joined Bomco in November of 1983 after extensive experience with Gulf Western in Middleton, CT and later with AGC in Meridan, CT. where he served as purchasing agent for aircraft parts, some of which were supplied by a company called Bomco. As a result, George came to Bomco with a full understanding of the needs of aircraft engine manufacturers. However, he also came to Bomco with something of equal, if not more value – his own sales code for performance.

George approached every sales challenge by categorizing the steps into compartments he labeled the seven “C’s” of successful selling: customer Contact, Conversation about needs, Concern for evaluation, Consideration of solutions, Control of the process, Commitment to the customer and Completion of the project. This sales code certainly worked well for George, as well as for Bomco. George helped to expand the business with major aircraft engine manufacturers, and obtained supplier delivery system (SDS) approval, eliminating the need for on-site inspections. He also secured and expanded the business with a major medical equipment manufacturer. In more recent years, George applied his code to the successful start-up and development of a military sales source approval (SAR) program.

In commenting on George Ryczek’s various successes, Mark Standley, Vice-President of Technical Sales, said, “George is steady as a rock, dedicated, persistent in his efforts, meticulous in his work and always personable with friends and customers alike.” Sometimes George’s persistence could take an interesting turn. At one time his fellow workers affectionately referred to him as “the shark” because they never knew where he would turn up, ready to take a bite out of anyone not expediting an order fast enough!

Over the years, George Ryczek not only worked with the technology of precision formed metal components, he literally embraced technology. He continually surprised his co-workers not only with his understanding of manufacturing technology, but also with his ability to access critical and sometimes forgotten data about a major customer. “George was our “go-to-guy”, not only when we needed background data but more importantly when we needed to secure and develop a major account”, added President, Mike Mccarthy. “George approached every situation as an informed, dedicated, and personable professional. He has made an exceptional contribution to our growth over the last 26 years and we will miss him,” concluded Mike McCarthy.

George is looking forward to spending more time with his family, wife Marcella, two daughters and two grandsons. Bomco employees, customers, suppliers and friends all wish George a relaxing and well-deserved retirement.

Bomco Installs New Cost-Effective Cleaning System

Paul Hubbard, Vice President of Bomco, has announced the completion and installation of a new parts cleaning system that significantly improves productivity. This new cleaning system, built by Ramco Equipment Corporation to Bomco specifications, has also reduced solvent consumption by 60 percent. The new system consists of seven stages including four separate 550 gallon vessels. Each vessel is equipped with automatic cycle controls for precise control over time, temperature and agitation. The aqueous stages are monitored, filtered and recycled using a recycling system designed and built by Environmental Control Systems Inc. Commenting on the new cleaning system, Paul Hubbard said, “This system is another enhancement to our manufacturing infrastructure and we are pleased that it both contributes to our efficiency as well as reduces our impact on the environment.”
